Just finished a 3 day show at Talking Stick Baseball Stadium.  Very nice show.  Sold one piece.

Foundry here we come

Just got back from the foundry.  We brought back 4 new bronzes that I will be putting together this week.  We left 8 new waxes.

Koa

I just got the base from Dale Kono, It is koa from Hawaii.  The color goes very well with the stone, onyx.

Chrysocolla

Just finished the piece below. It is chrysocolla a beautiful blue green stone. It was given to me my one of my clients to do something with. I hope he likes the results.

New stone for November

Just finished the wax for this new stone.  It still need a shine.

It does not always work out

Here is the end result of my attempt to make a new 3 foot onyx sculpture.  The stone decided it wanted to be several small pieces.  I had it almost shaped when the stone fractured.  Upward and onward.

Back to the doctor to fix the back. I started working on new stone today.  Got some great stone with unusual color and designs on the way home from the last three shows.  Pictures coming soon.

Back Home

just got home from a 3 week, 3 show swing through Colorado and New Mexico. Moving stone 3 times and then picking up 250 lb of stone on the way home. Poor back! It is 104 outside and the jacuzzi heats up to 103. Don't know weather to just stand out side or get in the jacuzzi

Opening

We are attending our opening at the Arroyo Gallery in Santa Fe tonight from 5 -9 pm.  We will be showing with 4 other Western Artist of America.

loveland show

Just got a call from someone who saw my art in Loveland.  They just purchased a piece for their son's birthday.  That makes Loveland a really great show.

Santa Fe

We are in santa fe and will deliver pieces to the gallery for a show this weekend.

Loveland show

Sunday night, we just finished the three day Loveland Sculpture Invitational.    We are tired but happy because we sold three sculptures.  Gas money home plus some.

A day off

Spent the day with Bob and Bonnie. We went to Evergreen where Bob has a piece featured in their sculpture garden.

Delivery

We just delivered this piece to Todd in Colorado Springs.  It is in a beautiful house with other great art.

Off To Colorado

We are taking off for Colorado tomorrow morning.  This is the last piece I put together Wednesday night.  It has a mesquite base.

Getting ready

We are getting ready for our trip to Colorado and New Mexico.  It will last three week, three shows three weekends in a row.  I am putting together 3 new pieces to take on this trip.  I will be nice to get out of the Arizona heat.

Red Cloud

This is the newest commission piece I put together.  This printstone is going to Colorado.

Just got home from Huntington beach, opened Southwest Art and Western Art Collector magazines and saw my work in an ad in each. Wow

We are spending a few days at Huntington Beach for some R and R before we start our three week swing through Colorado in August.

Foundry here we come

I will be heading to the Skurja art casting foundry tomorrow to pick up some bronze and to drop off some new wax.  We are continuing up to Sedona to the Wind Rush Gallery to drop off three sculptures.  This will be the first time in a long time that I will have sculptures in a gallery.

It is 109 degrees outside and I am still cutting stone.

Huntington Beach

We stopped in Huntington beach on the way back to Goodyear.  Weather was great, 70s and plenty on sunshine.  Got time to play in the waves and enjoy a good drink.

While in Tahoe

While we are in Tahoe we did some business.  We drove to Dayton NV. to look at some stone.  We came back to Tahoe with these stones.  Aragonite, a great looking white translucent stone.  I will start working on one of these for the Western Artist of America show I will be in in March of 2012.

We are headed back to Tahoe for a vacation and to see old friends.

The Phippen Art Show

The Phippen was very very good to us this year.  Sold these.

Pam is in London so I hired a street person to help me set up.  He coughed the whole time.  I hope I don't get TB.  We just got everything in the tent.  I have to go in tomorrow at 7am to arrange everything.  Looking forward to a great show.

We just got back from the foundry. I will be spending the next week putting together for 6 commissions and new pieces for the Phippen Art Show at the end of the month.

Design America Art Show, Texas

Just got back from Texas, 2400 miles round trip.   It was a show with great artist but  was a poorly attended We still sold two pieces.  Not a total loss.

Art of Estrella

I am a founding member of a new art group, Art of Estrella.  It is a group of 6 artist where I live  and wants to promote art and artist in Estrella Mountain.  This was our first attempt at an art show.  We piggybacked off the Phoenix  Symphony event that took pace in our community.  We had good reviews from the public that attended the event.

Pueblo Grande Museum Art Show

We will be taking part in the Arizona's Western Heritage Showcase art show at the Pueblo Grande Museum Saturday and Sunday from 9 am - 4 pm.  There will be a great collection of artist and art.  See you there.

Palm Springs Show

We are packing up and heading to Palm Springs for a 4 day show, Thursday-Sunday.  It is in conjunction with the PS rodeo.  It will be a first for us.  We are hoping to leave a lot of sculptures in PS.

Friday we head to Skurja Art Casting to deliver some wax for new sculptures.  6 of them will be for commissions we have gotten in the last three shows.

TB show sunday

Just finished the TB art show in Carefree.  Great weather all weekend.  We sold two and have a commission for another.  A very good show for us.

Better work area

I have been working all day on my outside work area.  Laying 16" cement slabs to give me a nicer and cleaner work area.  Then I hit the Jacuzzi.  I am not as young as I use to be!

Out west art show

Friday was a good day.  Lots of people.  Saturday it started raining and we left for home around 1pm.  Sunday it rained until about 2:30.  We had a little sunshine but is stayed in the 40s.   I had on a turtle neck, a sweater, a wool shirt, a wind breaker, and my pajama bottoms under my jeans and I was still cold.  The old saying goes, it is not how many people come to a show as long as the right people come.  This is only the second show we have done in 5 year where we sold something each day of a three day show.  All our sales were stones I was working on and had not completed, commissions. Hope we don't have to do another show with weather like this one.

SAL show first day

First day had good crowds but low energy.  The weather was gray and cool.  We sold one piece.

New Stones

We just got back from Jim's where we purchased almost 300 pounds of stone.  We had a hard time looking over the hood of the Prius with all that stone in the back.

Wigwam Show this weekend

We have a show at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, AZ this weekend.  It will be Fri-Sun for 10am - 5 pm.  See you there.

Denver Indian Market

Sunday was a smaller crowd.  Lots of lookers but only one buyer.  The piece is going back to North Carolina.

Denver art show

Two days at the Indian art show in Denver and no sales.  If I got a dollar for each card that someone took and a dollar for atat boys.  We would be making money.  There is always Sunday!

Heading to Denver

We are heading to Denver for the Indian Market Art Show this coming weekend.  We had a good time there last year and are looking forward to this show.

Our first show

Just finished our first show of the year, Thunderbird Art and Wind Festival, in Carefree, AZ. Great weather, great crowd with people in the buying mood. This piece I just made was featured in the tent. I sold it and could have sold it twice. One gentleman said he was interested and wanted to walk the rest of the show first. When he got back to buy it it was already sold. I tell them these pieces are one of a kind.

Thunderbird Art Show

We will be at the TB art show this weekend in Carefree, AZ.  I will have my newest piece, Guarding the Pass,  there.

Indian Art Show

just went over the LItchfield Park for the Indian Art Fair. We saw Judy Durr and Roger Kurr.  Much fine art.

Quartzite

Just got back from Quartzite. We bought several stones. One, mountain jade from China is going to make a great piece.
