Visability!

A friend of mine sent me this picture of an ad that ran in a magazine where he lived. The Thuderbird has again used one of my pieces to advertize there upcoming shows of which I will be in. Love this piece.

Art Show

I went to the Pueblo Museum art show today.  lots of jewelry.  We are planning to attend a show there next year.

Last Show

Here is a picture of our last show of the year.  We had a wonderful time.  I actually had a client bring me a stone from which to make a sculpture.  Now that is what I call connecting with your customers. Have a great holiday season and prosperous new year.  See you in January.

We just set up today for this weekends show. It is a great location and should be a great show.

SouthwestPremier Artists Art Show

We will be in a SPA art show this weekend with 12 other artist.  It will be the first of this kind of show we have done.  It is at Judy Durr's home,  6033 E. Skyline Dr.  Cavecreek, AZ    Friday 6pm - 10pm  and Saturday 10am - 4 pm.

The Show is Over

We just finished the show in City North.  We sold three pieces:  one is going to Florida, one to Pennsylvania, and one to Ohio.  On to the next show.

Second day

This was the second day of the City north art show.  Sold my last piece of tigereye, a stone from Australia.

City North

Just finished our first day of the Thunderbird art show at City North.  Made one sale.  This piece will be going home to Ohio.  A great stone, very nice piece.

We just got back from Prescott where we had new pieces photographed.  Here is one.

Carefree show

Did a show in Carefree Az last weekend. Sold two pieces. One is going back to Indiana. We are off to Prescott to have pictures taken of some new pieces.

Palm Springs

We are getting ready to head for a Palm Springs Show October 29-13.  It will be at the corner of Ramon and Crossley Roads.  It will run 10am-5:30pm.  This is a new show for us, hope to see you there.  www.palmspringsartfestival.com

Back Home

Just got back from Hawaii. We visited the land and saw old friends on the big island. Then spent a few days in Waikiki.  This is a moon setting at 6 am. on Molokai.

We has a great time on Molokai and will be heading to the Big island tomorrow.

Vacation

We are heading for Molokai for a three week vacation.  That will charge us up for the end of the year shows.

Castle Rock

We are on our way back from Castle Rock.  We left 4 pieces there. This is the largest piece we sold.

Sale after the show

I met a couple how saw me in Beaver Creek in the hotel parking lot the day before the Castle Rock Show. They bought Feather Fan.  What good fortune that our paths crossed.  They got a great piece and I got a sale.

This is my newest piece and it will be going with us to the Castle Rock Art show in Colorado next week.

Santa Fe

We just got back from Santa Fe.  We had a great time and left 2 sculptures behind.  We have a couple of weeks to get ready for our next trip to Castle Rock, Co.

Off to Santa Fe

We are hitching up and heading for Santa Fe Wednesday.  We will be in the El Dorado Hotel Friday-Sunday.  Our show runs in conjunction with the Santa Fe Indian Market.  If you are in the area stop by and say hello.

Colorado Trip

We just got home from a 12 day, two show trip to Colorado.  We had a great time and left 3 sculptures in three homes filed with great art.  This is a picture of our set up at Loveland.

We went to the King Tut exhibit in Denver today. Amazing looking at things made over 3000 years ago. Tomorrow we set up for the Loveland Show.

We left Beaver Creek yesterday.  We are in Loveland and visited Estes Park today.

Prescott Indian Art Show

We went up to Prescott to see the Indian Art Show at Scharlot Hall Museum.  We ran into some good friends who were in the show, Judy and Rodger.

New Work

We will be going up to Prescott next week to pick up 4 new bronzes.  I will be putting them together with stone for the next show in Beaver Creek, Co.

Phippen Art Show

The Phippen is over and we had a great show.  We really enjoyed being in the 80 degree temperature instead of the 100 degrees at home.

I just got back from Prescott.  There I picked up 11 new bronzes for sculptures.  I should have them together for the Phippen Art Show in Prescott May 28-31.

I just finished a class with the Cowboy Artist of America Orland Joe.  This sculpture is the result of 5 days of work. This is alabaster, a much softer stone than I normally work with.

Learning new things

I am taking a class from Cowboy Artist of America, Orland Joe.  He is a famous stone sculptor.  I am learning new techniques to improve my art.

Just got back from the Skurja foundry.  We took up 8 new waxes for new sculptures. They should be ready for the next show, the Phippen in Prescott at the end of May.

I am working on a new piece.  It is onyx, a very colorful stone.  It will make a great sculpture.

New shows

We were just notified that we will be in the Beaver Creek Art show in Colorado July 31 -August 1 and the Loveland Art show in Colorado August 6 -8th.  We are waiting to hear from Ruidoso NM.  We will also be in the Indian Market in Santa Fe NM. Aug. 20-22.

NEW SHOW

We start another art show tomorrow, Friday, at Carefree AZ. Show time is 10am-5pm. The weather should be spectacular. See you there.

Anyone know who Dizzy Dean is.  He will be featured in my next post.  We are in Casa Grande setting up for a show this weekend.  Weather should cooperate this weekend.  We got rained out last weekend in Carefree.

Out West Art Festival

We just finished the Out West Show.  This was one of the best shows we have had.  We sold 7 pieces.  We are now getting ready for this weekend.  We will be in Carefree at the Thunderbird Art Festival on Easy Street. (yes, Easy Street).  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday  10-5pm.  Oh, yes, I was the featured artist at the last show.

Just got done loading the trailer for the Out West Art Festival. It will be in Cave Creek's Stagecoach Shopping center this Friday - Sunday 10am-5pm.  Come on out and see the new pieces in person.

Saturday Art Outing

Pam and I spent today visiting the Heard Museum 20th Annual World Championship Hoop Dance Contest and then went to the Phoenix Home Garden Show. The hoop dancer were divided into many categories.  All the dancers were excellent.  The Garden Show featured home decorators, landscapers and artist.

New Piece

I just finished putting together another new piece.  This is tigereye from Australia.  It is a hard stone to find but well worth looking for.  This stone is so hard that to work the stone I need to use diamond saws and polishing pads.

African

I just sold another piece, African.  It is a great little piece that is going to El Dorado Hills, Ca.

Prescott

We just got back from Prescott where we visited Skurja Art Castling.  While there we picked up 6 new bronzes for stones I have at home.  These are really going to make great sculptures.

January, what a month

In January we had three shows in three states, Arizona, Colorado, and California.  We drove about 3500 miles.  We sold 6 sculptures.  Not a bad start for the year.  We are heading to the foundry tomorrow to get 4 new bronzes.  I should have them put together by the middle of Feb. just in time for the next show, Out West Art Festival in Cavecreek, AZ.  I will be the featured at the show this year.

HOME AGAIN

Well after 7 days and 1970 miles we are home again.  The Denver Indian Show was the second largest art show in which we have participated.  There were probable over 300 artist selling everything from jewelry to sculptures, to paintings to hand made indian artifacts.  They had  entertainment from start to finish.  We had so many shoppers that the fire department stopped people from entering the show until some left the show.   We sold one finished piece and another piece that I was working on at the show.  While there we got a phone call and sold another piece off the wed site.  All in all a great trip.  Next weekend we will be in Indio, CA. at another show.  If you are in the area stop by and see us.  The picture, the snow, was taken on our way up to the show.

Denver day3

No sales today but alot of interest.  We may have sold Winter Wind.  We will find out tomorrow.  Now we are heading home in the morning.

Day two and again there was a big crowd.  But today along with admires we had two buyers.  That felt good.  One more day to go.

We just got into Denver for a show this weekend.  We spent this afternoon setting up in a large building.  There must be hundreds of artist here.  We are tired.  More information tomorrow.

Thunderbird Art Show

This weekend we had great weather and a great show.  There were lots of people and many people interested in my work.  We were sold three pieces.  We are now leaving for Denver for a weekend show there.

birdseye rhiolite

I just met a guy driving from Mexico to the Quartzite Rock Show.  He had a load of birdseye rhiolite.  I bought over 200 pounds of stone from him.  These are going to make amazing sculptures.  Tomorrow we head to Carefree for a Thunderbird art show.  It will be Fri, Sat, and Sunday.  It is the first of the year and we hope to get off to a great start.

Art Show

I went over to Litchfield Park today to The Gathering, 18th Annual Native American Art Festival.  There was much good art and entertainment.

New Rocks

Just got back from Quartzite with over 200 pounds of new stones.  I got some beauties.  This should keep me busy for a few months.
